Is proficiency in the English language important?
Almost all universities in the UK, USA, Australia and New Zealand require students to hold a minimum standard in a TOEFL or IELTS test.

However, if you have not taken the test, and are registering for one of our affiliated universities, please inform us, so that we may assist you in your application.

Exceptional students may qualify with an interview.

Where have most of the TOA graduates gone to further their studies? Are there many?
Our graduates have gone to Australia, New Zealand, the US and the UK to further their studies. There are various factors that play a role in our graduates’ decisions. Some go to the US as it has always been hailed as the land for designers. However, this is the most expensive option compared to other countries.

Due to our early affiliations with UK universities, there are a number of students furthering their studies in the country. Students are also able to gain exposure in a European environment. Those who go to Australia and New Zealand could have chosen them for the distance and other factors although they are not necessarily the most affordable. Their choice is truly based on many institutional, cultural and personal factors.

We are seeing more students continuing their studies recently, mostly to the UK, Australia and New Zealand.

Many graduates prefer to work after graduation. They have been working their way up the ladder in various types of companies.

Our diploma provides the best local training available that is fully recognized and is preferred by the industry.

Is it guaranteed that I only need to complete 1-year in an affiliated university if my results and portfolio are above average?
So far, all our above average graduates who have applied to affiliated universities have managed to get final year placing (E.g. at Wolverhampton, Waikato, Swinburne etc).

It is not good enough to have just good grades. You must also have a good portfolio to show.

On top of that, language and communication skills are equally important – most universities require good IELTS / TOEFL results.

All applications to our affiliated universities are to be made through the International Office.

Will TOA help me with application to other universities?
Yes, we can help to advise and provide relevant information if required.
However, filling in forms and dealing with problems concerning other non-affiliated universities have to be handled by the students themselves.

How about financial aid?
The affiliated universities offer scholarships based on their own requirements. Interested students may check information through the universities’ own websites.

We do not offer scholarships for affiliated degree programmes or the twinned programmes.

Which university is better?
Preference for a particular university depends very much on a variety of factors.

Financial means, city or suburb, content of course, location and distance from Malaysia, reputation, etc.

Only you and your parents can determine which is better according to your preference. All of the universities that we are affiliated with are known for Design education.
